Halloween costumes are great fun and should be experienced by everybody. The costumes are even more fun when you wear them with costume accessories. Sports memorabilia, canes, and even weapons are carried in conjunction with costumes. People love to make their costumes look realistic. Unfortunately some people like to make their costumes too realistic. These folks tend to use actual weapons and they accidentally hurt people at costume parties.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with trying to make a Halloween costume appear more realistic. However, it becomes a problem when people become hazardous to their friends and family members while trying to make their costumes look more real. People looking to have a realistic looking costume with realistic looking accessories should try to find items that only look realistic. For example, if you were to get a medieval fighting sword, you would want it to be dull enough not to stab anybody. Cutting swords are great for sparring, but you don’t want to bring them to a costume party.

The best alternative to a real sword is a reenactment sword. These swords are quite real, but they are dull enough that they cannot cut anybody. Just be sure that you buy a reenactment weapon that the reenactment guilds have approved. These swords are sure to cause the least damage over the other medieval swords. Feel free to sharpen the reenactment sword after you have retired it from attending parties.

It can be difficult to find a medieval reenactment sword. These aren’t the type of items that you can pick up at your local Walmart. One of the best places to look for these swords is on the web. When you wear a costume that demand modern weaponry, you might need to go without the weapon. Carrying around a realistic looking gun is not a safe thing to do. Your gun could be mistaken for an actual weapon and you might get into trouble with the law. You might even make someone feel threatened enough to attack you. The best thing to do when dressing up like a character that uses a gun is to simply go without his or her accessory. You can always wear an empty gun holster to let people know you didn’t forget about it.
